This Level 1 Tajweed Course is a 12 week course with 2 lessons per week perfecting the rules and practising recitation with in-depth lessons to help improve. This course is taught by Ustadha Fouzia, a qualified female teacher of Quran.

Perfecting Quran Recitation Course (December 2023)

Engaging with the Qur’ān is one of the most noble forms of worship. Whether it be learning how to recite, reflecting on the verses or be part of preserving the miracle which is the Book of Allāh. 

The first step to the memorization of the Qur’ān is learning how to recite it fulfilling its due rights. If you’ve studied Tajweed; the next step is perfecting your recitation. Even if you wish to memorise a few short surahs, the beauty of the correct recitation will surely fill your heart with solace and help you improve your khushu in Salah.

Our inspiration for this course relies heavily on the following Ahadith: 

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said,

  “Verily the one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.”

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said,

   “It will be said to the companion of the Quran: Read and elevate (through the levels of the Paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were in the dunya! For verily, your position in the Paradise will be at the last verse you recite!”

[Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood]

The aim/vision of this course is to master the pronunciation and intonation which is the key to preserving the Qur’ān’s originality. Perfecting your recitation helps you in memorization and would aid you to enhance your ability to retain difficult words/verses. The confidence, the commitment and determination that is needed to progress towards Hifdh, is fulfilled if you are confident in your recitation of the Book of Allāh.

Memorising Surah Maryam (Past Course)

Begin your Quran memorisation journey by memorising major Surahs in the Quran to aid your journey to completion. This memorisation course is a 16 week course with 2 lessons every week which dedicates to memorising Surah Maryam which includes perfecting Tajweed. This course is taught by Ustadha Fouzia, a qualified female teacher of Quran.

Quran makes us believe in the Ultimate power and authority of Allah in such a way that it enables us to see beyond the predictability of cause and effect. Although Allah has made this universe in such a way that for everything there is a logical and physical reasoning but at the same time Allah has also made miracles happen which makes us realize the truth that Allah is not dependent on these laws to create anything. Again and again we find in the Quran such examples which make us “see” this power Head over everything so that the closet we come towards Him with love and submission, the more belief we have in our hopes and dreams turning into reality.

The idea of having Allah as our friend and guide us so irresistibly delightful that it makes us return to Quran again and again for that silent meeting and communication with the Lord. Selecting Surah Maryam for Hifdh has so many reasons. 
This is what Surah Maryam is all about, the power of Allah’s creation and the humility and submission of His chosen people. One of them was Prophet Zakariyya (A.S) who prayer to Allah in his old age for a child so that he may carry on his mission of spreading Allah’s message. Or Isa (A.S) being born without a father, it shows it is only Allah who can do anything He wants, the vastness of the word anything is what we don’t understand, He has no limits. Or Maryam (A.S) devotion towards Allah. The high level of trust she had in Allah for providing her basic needs.

At Muslimah Support System, our intention is to be inclusive to all sisters from all walks of life around the world. This programme was designed specifically in mind for new Muslim women who want the correct understanding of the core principles of Islam whilst having a support network of Muslim women to help ensure there is tailored support for new sisters.

Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one day, a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not recognize him. He sat in front of the Prophet, rested his knees by his knees, and placed his hands on his thighs. The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet said, “Islam is to testify there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give charity, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform pilgrimage to the House if a way is possible.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised that he asked him and said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about faith.” The Prophet said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in providence, its good and its harm.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully. Tell me about excellence.” The Prophet said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you.” The man said, “Tell me about the final hour.” The Prophet said, “The one asked does not know more than the one asking.” The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet said, “The slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see barefoot, naked, and dependent shepherds compete in the construction of tall buildings.” Then, the man returned and I remained. The Prophet said to me, “O Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, he was Gabriel who came to teach you your religion.”
