Have you ever wondered what Love is? Love is a universal emotion that is filled in every aspect of our lives. When it comes to love we always refer to human relationships like love of a partner, a parent, a friend etc. We think love is limited to these relationships but one thing we miss in all this, is the love of our Creator: “The Divine Love” which transcends all others.
Who Is Allah SWT?
To know about love of Allah we need to know who is Allah? Allah is the creator of the universe. The Earth, the Sun, the Moon, the Sea and all the creatures. Not that he just created all these, but he is maintaining and managing them all at the same time. He is the one who never sleeps nor yarns. Quran, the holy book of Islam says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)
Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and
whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a
thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
His Kursi extends over the heavens and the
earth, and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Highest, the Greatest.
The Love of Allah SWT
Love of Allah is unlimited, encircling every soul regardless of their deficiencies or past disobediences. He loves everyone no matter what he/she has done in the past, once you get Hidayah you are under His Mercy. Allah’s love is important of all in this world, this love is the way to Jannah. This love is the way to live calmly in the dunia. To be peaceful, calm and content
in the world Allah sent us guidance through his book The Holy Quran and His messenger Muhammad SAW. This is Allah’s Mercy and Love that He sent Prophet Muhammad SAW to guide us in this world. In Surah Aal-i-Imran (3:31) Allah instructs:
“Say, [O Muhammad], If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” So, in order to get Allah’s love one should follow His messenger Prophet Muhammad SAW.
How can we Express our love to Allah?
One of the most profound ways to respond to Allah’s love is through acts of worship. The five
daily prayers are a great source of getting closer to Allah.
Allah says in Surah Al- Baqarah 2:152, “So, remember me, I will remember you.”
Allah instructs us to remember him and by praying five daily prayers we get closer to him by taking time for him. The other sources to get closer to Him is to pay all obligations Zakat (Charity), Sawm (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage). Also remember Him through out the day by calling Zikar and Tasbeeh.
These acts are not only a means of demonstrating love and obedience to Allah, but they also foster a deeper connection with the Creator. As a believer there should be deep love for Allah in our hearts
As Allah say in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:165) “But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah.”
This verse emphasizes the importance of prioritizing Allah’s love above all else. As believers our priority should be ALLAH. What we do must be done for Allah before ourselves because this is the only way to comfort, guidance and spiritual fulfilment for the believers. By prioritising our love for Allah above all else, we find solace in His mercy and navigate the difficulties of life with
a sense of purpose and tranquility.
May all our endeavours be to nurture a deep love for Allah, seeking His pleasure in all that we do.
With love and du’as,
