This blog post will cover the importance of a Sunday Reset Routine centred around faith and how to create a routine for the week ahead!
Importance of a Sunday Reset Routine
The benefits of having a reset routine include the following:
- It prepares you well enough for the week ahead
- Having a reset routine boosts productivity and gives you clarity on your goals
- Having a Sunday Reset Routine promotes an overall better well-being and mental state
- It beats procrastination too (which is what we want, right?)!
Now that we’ve covered the benefits, here are some ideas YOU can include in a Sunday Reset Routine (centred around your faith).
1. Plan your week
“There are two blessings which many people do not make the most of and thus lose out: good health and free time.” (Al Bukhari)
This may help especially if you’re in a productivity slump. Having clear targets may keep you on top of your goals throughout the week.
Grab your journal, and a warm drink and write a list of at least 10 goals you want to accomplish this week!
2. Gratitude journal + Prayer
“If you are grateful, I will increase you (in favour). But if you are ungrateful, indeed, My punishment is severe.” (Ibrahim:7)
Grab your favourite journal and write at least 5 things you’re grateful for! Gratitude boosts your overall mood, and best of all, brings you closer to your Deen (faith).
Praying is an important part of our daily lives. Even a five-minute duaa (prayer) will be accepted!
Making Duaa is truly uplifting. We call on the Almighty in times of need and to express gratitude for what he has blessed us with.
We can also make Dhikr (remembrance of God) daily, even on our work breaks, as well as listen to Qur’an and Islamic podcasts. However if you do have time, definitely read a few pages of Qur’an.
3. Pamper Yourself
“Verily in this are signs for those with reason.” (Ar-Rum:21-26)
What’s a good Sunday without self-care?
Enjoy the simple things – wash your hair, put on a face mask, soak in a bathtub/take a shower.
Moisturize yourself with your favourite lotion.
Do some stretching or take a walk in nature. This will definitely clear your mind and make you appreciate your surroundings. Doing this will give you a sense of gratitude for what Allah SWT has given you. Don’t underestimate the power of time in nature.
You may also change your bedding and do some laundry. A healthy environment means a healthy mind!
Thank you for reading!
With lots of love and duas,
